Do I Need to Hire a General Contractor? Yes, you will need to hire a general contractor for any construction, remodeling, or installation work. While S. Schmid Home does not provide general contracting services, I collaborate closely with your contractor to ensure the design is executed seamlessly. I am happy to introduce you to my trusted contractors and offer guidance on selecting the best contractor for your unique project. Throughout the construction process, I work closely with the contractor to advocate for the design vision, communicate specifications and finishes, and remain available to answer questions, provide on-site visits, and troubleshoot any design-related challenges.

What is the Timeline? Based on your project requirements, your timeline, the contractors availability, and the number of revisions required, we will work together to establish a realistic timeline for your project.  After the initial consult and once we have agreed to the scope of the services, we will discuss an estimated timeline.  

What is the investment?  The majority of S. Schmid Home’s services are charged on a flat fee basis. This includes a set of design deliverables and pre-determined number of revisions. After the initial consult ($200), expect to receive an estimate for your project based on our conversation.

What are the terms to book? 

• Consult must be in-person unless you have agreed to an e-design package. 

• S. Schmid Home does not accept in-person projects more than 25 miles away from 78739.  

• Design Kickstart - All decision makers need to be present. 

• All services are non-refundable.
